I'm preparing an English lesson on smugglers for tomorrow, and of course I can't have a lesson on such a topic without the funny story how moonshine running turned into a popular racing series. Here is my request: I need some cool pics of '30s cars outrunning the police or something. Also some shots of the very first oval races on beaches would be cool too. Any ideas for websites or anything. So far my google-fu hasn't really come up with something. Help a jalop out turn kids into gearheads?

How big is your time frame? I work at the International Motor Racing Research Center at Watkins Glen and we have a lot of stuff of the early years including periodicals. Here is the email to contact us directly and I will see if I can help you out.

I really only have a few minutes this time, but I will keep your e-mail for future events. Thanks!

Its where I work. The email goes to my boss who assigns the person to do the research. But no problem.
